Mormon Church will allow women to offer We’re pleased that the Mormon Church lifted its ban on prayers offered by women in its conferences. We’re pleased it began letting women offer prayers in sacrament meetings as of 1978. These events and others like it (such as bestowing priesthood upon African Americans, also in 1978), albeit well overdue, are steps in the right direction.
