Leaked videos of secret meetings between Mormon politicians and Mormon church leaders have caused something of a ruckus. Not surprisingly, a host of Mormon politicians are rushing forth to defend allowing religious beliefs to inform their views.
| But that’s not what people are howling about. They’re howling about letting religious leaders determine how politicians view issues and vote. When that happens, it crosses a dangerous line. It is, after all, how you get Iraq. |
